we design everything on paper with watercolors. |
our designs are carved by hand into wooden blocks by our block carvers in Rajasthan. |
we use non-toxic dyes made from things like onion skins, turmeric, and pomegranate rinds which has been used in traditional textile printing that are over 500 years old! |
the wooden blocks are used by our printers to print our patterns onto Indian cotton. |
after printing, the scarves are spread out in the communal drying field. after two days under the sun,the scarves are boiled in a bath of alum to fix the color and then dried on the drying field again. |
each scarves are inspected after drying. |
one scarf takes many days to create. each scarf is unique piece and no two textiles are exactly alike. |
